Ekwutozia Nwabuzor is the Founder and Managing Member of Nwabuzor & Associates, PLLC, where she advises private fund sponsors, investment advisers, institutional investors, family offices, entrepreneurs, and privately held businesses on sophisticated transactional matters.

Her practice focuses on private fund formation, asset management advisory services, investor-side representation in private fund investments, mergers and acquisitions, emerging business transactions, outsourced general counsel services, corporate governance, and estate planning. Prior to founding Nwabuzor & Associates, Ekwutozia was a Member in the Corporate Practice Group at Cozen O'Connor and previously practiced at leading national and international law firms. Earlier in her career, she served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for a global investment management firm.

In addition to her legal practice, Ekwutozia serves as an independent director and chairperson for a Cayman Islands hedge fund, where she provides governance oversight and strategic guidance on board governance, fiduciary responsibilities, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk management.

Ekwutozia is a frequent speaker on private investment funds, asset management, corporate transactions, and diversity within the financial services industry. She serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Uncommon Schools NYC and as a Director of Queens Legal Services Corporation. She earned her Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts, with Honors, from the College of the Holy Cross.
